Taster’s choice: Cannabis products not just for smoking anymore
Since 2012, 18 states and Washington, D.C. have legalized/decriminalized the recreational use of cannabis for adults over the age of 21.
Massachusetts is one of those states and, as Worcester-based Mayflower Dispensary can attest, the market has evolved dramatically from the original joint and bong formats used for decades.
“Today, we offer everything from cannabis-infused edibles to flower, disposable vaporizers and concentrates, and more — the full gamut of what’s used in the adult market,” shared Zachary Ben-Haim, market manager at Mayflower, which opened in December 2020 as the recreational sister store to Mayflower Medicinals in Boston.
While one of their biggest sellers is still ‘flower’ – flower buds that people roll into a joint or smoke in a pipe — “many people are additionally buying pre-rolled joints with a full gram of flower based on their convenience, as they can just pick the strain they want and be ready to go,” Ben-Haim said. “We also sell pre-rolled packs and quality pre-ground flower as well.”
